The barrier came down, though that much is likely obvious. There weren't any Noctaere, just creatures from the desert--sharks, gigantic worms, giant crabs, and spiders, from what I remember.
About a week after, the Overlord destroyed the monsters, repaired everything, and answered some questions of ours.
