[Character name] Gulliver
[Age] … Who knows?
[Canon] Eureka Seven (manga verse, but using the anime as the backbone)
[Point in time taken from canon] Ch. 23, pre-epilogue.
[Background]
Appearance.
How Anemone acquired Gulliver is unknown. It first appears in the manga when after the Coralian disappears, leaving Anemone in a bad physical state. It’s lying on her bed when Dominic enters the scene, telling it to get off. Intimidated, it complies.
It doesn’t do anything else particularly remarkable for the rest of the series, other than pop up wherever Anemone or Dominic are occasionally, like when Anemone freaks out at Dominic and the latter’s resulting moping, as he strokes Gulliver.
From what we can tell, Anemone takes it with her aboard the Ginga ship, but leaves it behind when she goes on her suicide mission. From there, the soldiers fleeing the ship take it with them. They eventually encounter the Gekkostate camp, where Gulliver is reunited with Anemone.
It’s later seen scratching at the ruins of theEND with tears in its eyes, likely trying to dig the then-dead Dominic out.
[Personality] Gulliver is, for the most part, rather stubborn. It tends to annoy most people with its habit of clinging to wherever it wants and generally being a waste of space, but shows no sign that it cares.
It can be intimidated, such as when Dominic gets it off Anemone’s bed. Not by petty yelling, however, but by anything that seems menacing. Or if someone—namely, Anemone—is freaking out.
It’s stoic and indifferent to most people, but is presumably fond enough of Anemone to constantly be around her, and the scene of it scratching at theEND suggests that it’s also fond of Dominic (backed up by the fact that it definitely becomes more affectionate to him near the end of the anime, choosing to cling to him even when Anemone’s back in the picture).
[Abilities] … It can seemingly change its weight, from ridiculously heavy to light enough for Anemone to throw it around, at will?
[Other important stuff] … Did I mention that it can be ridiculously heavy? As in, it-put-a-dent-in-Dominic’s-bunk-just-by-jumping-on-it-heavy?
